Join a dynamic and rapidly growing manufacturing company based in Swindon, Wiltshire, specialising in creating high-quality products for prominent UK retailers. This innovative business prides itself on quality, sustainability, and a collaborative team environment. As part of their continued growth, they are looking for a dedicated and proactive Accounts Assistant to become a key part of their finance team, supporting the company’s strategic goals and daily operations.
What will you be doing?
- Managing and maintaining the accounts receivables and payables functions.
- Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Scheduling weekly supplier payments, maintaining effective supplier relationships.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Managing quarterly Alcohol Duty claims and other tax-related submissions.
- Reconciling invoice finance accounts monthly and assisting with month-end activities such as accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Liaising with external auditors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth financial operations.
- Supporting management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Participating in finance system and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Why would you be a good fit?
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounts or finance role, ideally within manufacturing or similar sectors.
- Strong skills in Excel and experience with accounting systems; familiarity with Xero and Unleashed is desirable.
- Confident handling VAT, reconciliations, and adhering to deadlines.
- Proactive, well-organised, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- AAT qualification or studying towards it is considered an advantage, but not essential.
